Ah, the bunny is looking lovely!

The food at this diner was horrible, but the company was LOVELY and also the decor was great (there was a lot of great CHICKEN kitsch).

First off, in Hobbit tradition, I gave presents to other people on my birthday. This gave me the best sense of happiness, actually. Seeing the look on my darling [livejournal.com profile] bunnyohare's face when she got her long-wished-for Rabbit Slippers (pink!) was awesome. Plus, the plush monkey for my sister arrived in the mail today.

We also went out to dinner at the Tuscan Tavern in Warren (a town with a very rabbity name!), and then went to buy me an outfit for the Bunny's brother's wedding (which is in less than a week). I've gained forty (40!) pounds since I started on my thyroid medication a year ago, so of course none of my wedding-appropriate clothes fit me anymore.

Tonight she is making me a black forest cake, since yesterday we were way too full from dinner to even contemplate cake.

It was a wonderful birthday, and thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes.

Serenity!

Ah, May 26th, 2005, Providence, Rhode Island: the highly anticipated preview screening of Serenity. Joss delivered. Oh, did he ever.

This movie just blew me away -- it was fantastic in so many possibly spoilery ways, I cannot even say. It made the TV series seem like a little walk in the park, a small adorable lamby next to this Big Damn (completely moving) Movie. I absolutely cannot wait to see it again.
Some pictures (no stars, folks, just us humble fans). )

Yay, we are in our new apartment, along with all our cats, our furniture, and too many boxes.

The movers did a heroic job hoisting some of the furniture up the side of the house and onto the third floor balcony using ropes (the four pieces of furniture that wouldn't fit up the stairs). I know they wouldn't have had to work so hard if they'd bothered to take the drawers out of that enormous bureau, but still, all the more impressive. It was well worth the money.

The cats were a bit frightened of the new place at first, but once they figured out that the living room furniture smelled familiar, they relaxed.

Despite not lifting furniture, we are VERY exhausted and in need of Tylenol from lifting many boxes.

Also, did you all do anything interesting in the last few days that I MUST know? If so, tell me, because I'll just never have the chance to catch up on my f-list. We've had no internet connection for the last four and a half days (the Comcast guy is coming by tomorrow).

The new apartment is just LOVELY, and now all we have to do is unpack, get our new car registration and driver's licenses, and collapse into a heap of tired rabbits and chickens.

Yes, someone has finally been brave enough to ask about the Chicken thing. So anyone who has been burning to know, read the cut text if you want to find out what the big deal is about chickens. Do it! Do it now! ;-) Skip to the bottom, question five, if that is all your care about. I have for a long time intended to write an entry devoted only to the scary Chicken thing, but for now this will do.

Want to be interviewed?

If you want to keep the meme hopping along, here's how it works:

1. Leave a comment to this entry, saying you want to be interviewed.
2. I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3. You'll update your own journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4. You'll include this explanation.
5. You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.
