1) Total number of fandoms I like:

Probably depends on how you define "fandom" -- the number of shows I like is greater than the number of "fandoms" I like. Probably only the Whedonverse oens.

2) My first fandom ever:

Star Trek (the original series). As for [livejournal.com profile] ponders_life, this was the first show that made me seek out material in addition to the episodes, such as tie-in novels. My sister and I memorized all the episode names, names of directors and writers for each episode, etc., and made flashcards for each other to memorize even more trivial details. We had freaking blueprints of the Enterprise. Of course later on I came to dislike Roddenberry-esque ST, and to like Berman-era stuff much better (DS9) for its darker, grittier feel.

3) My most recent fandom:

I've read a bit of Ryan/Seth O.C. slash, but mostly I'm still in the Whedonverse fandoms.

4) Five fandoms that currently mean a lot to me (in order of preference):

1.) BtVS, AtS   2.) Firefly   3.) The O.C.   4.) Smallville   5.) Roswell

5) Tag five people:

I'll decline to spread the disease since a lot of fandom-y people on my f-list have already done it -- I was very late in responding to the tag by [livejournal.com profile] ponders_life. But by all means feel free to post anyway.

Like you DS9 came to be my favorite of all the Star Trek series -- wasn't it much more interesting, with the long-running arc and the morally ambiguous characters? I wish it could have continued longer.

Yes it was -- the arcs were great, the characters were compelling, the stories were character-driven rather than tech- or plot-driven, and the bad guys were almost always as interesting and complex as the good guys, the line between them being very fuzzy and grey. Garak, Gul Dukat, Vedek Winn, they were all so interesting (and boy, I always love Louise Fletcher). Such a pity it didn't continue longer, indeed.
