Angel 5.10 "Soul Purpose"

First may I say how tough ut us to type without one's right index finger working?

This is all based on vague memory from several weeks back, but if a thought has stayed with me that long, good for it.

1.) Aren't Spike and Lindsey a tiny bit slashy? Enough for someone out there to have written a fic by now.

2.) Retrospectively feeling Andrew could have arrived a little early before 'Damage' and had some geeky gay sex with Spike in that brand new flat Lindsey bought. Then later feigned surprise at seeing Spike, and Spike feigned exasperation, to cover their skanky embarrassing affair.

Sorry. Heh heh.

3.) Mountain Dew??????? Why?

4.) The stuff Fury said afterwards about Spike having to beat Angel to the cup because he is there this season to teach Angel, to help him towards redemption, I find interesting in retrospect and as an underlying contrast to Angel's continual whining that Spike's soul is not having an effect on his behavior. Maybe Angel is jealous of Spike's lack of gypsy curse, Spike's competition for Buffy, Spike's apparent ease and cheer in life, Spike's lack of paunch, Spike's greater hunger for Shanshu, etc., so he lashes out. ???

5.) Yes, we all hate Eve so much.

6.) During the dissection dream Angel had:

FRED: "Nothing. I can't seem to find anything wrong with you. I mean... ...except that you're empty. There's nothing left. Just a shell. "

OH MY GOD. Shell shell shell shell EEK.

7.) Mailboy Angel, Spike becoming a real boy, the visuals and exaggeration were HILARIOUS. Is Angel really so insecure?

And ironically Angel becomes so not a real boy in 'Smile Time'.

8.) The sunny meadow leather chair dream was so the feel and color palette of 'We Are As Gods'. Supersaturated, unreal. And spooky and funny for it.

9.) Lorne's outfit and mustache while at the piano in that dream were SO funny.

Every dark episode has a lot of subtle and even non-subtle humor; every funny ep. has dark bits. Love it.

Before I sat down to write this I thought I hated the episode, but I now see that is just not the case. Weird.
