chickenFamous playwright and director David Mamet has signed on to write the screenplay for a film based on the life of our notorious ex-Mayor, Buddy Cianci.
The screenplay will be based on Providence Journal reporter Mike Stanton's bestselling book The Prince of Providence: The True Story of Buddy Cianci, America’s Most Notorious Mayor, Some Wiseguys, and the Feds.
Pawtucket, RI born director Michael Corrente will direct.

I love that when Providence gets famous, it's usually for something dodgy and sensationalistic like a corrupt Mafia-connected ex-Mayor.
