Many thanks to the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] ponders_life for the birthday chicken icons! They are awesome:

I also procured several more icons, including a few Grey's Anatomy icons by [livejournal.com profile] retrolights and an Alan Davies/Q.I. icon by [livejournal.com profile] du_berg from various relevant LJ communities:

I know, these two subjects have little in common except that both shows make me laugh!

With the Internet, all things are possible. I'm another US-type person who's been getting QI on the QT, so to speak. I've been gradually pimping it to friends and family, and everyone who's seen it finds it absolutely hilarious. The QI site hints that we might officially get the show here, which would certainly be nice, although undoubtedly the episodes would be cut for commercials.

Yes, we have many means of obtaining the episodes. ;-) And of course this leads to the usual complaint about the lameness of BBC America -- we wouldn't have to resort to these things if only BBC America would actually show quite interesting shows (so to speak) instead of old-ass re-runs of Benny Hill and twenty-five million repeats of "Cash in the Attic". The day BBC America stopped showing "EastEnders" was a sad day. The day they stopped showing "League of Gentlemen" ditto. The way they are SO far behind on "Little Britain" is just silly. The way they refuse to carry "Q.I." is nearly criminal. It's absolutely my favorite show, even far and above "Arrested Development" on the funniness scale (and that's saying something).

Damn, I had no idea you'd replied to my comment - *kicks LJ* :(

I'm just watching the new ep of QI on BBC2 just now, and it reminded me of this post, so I thought I'd see if anyone else had commented on it, and here I see you replied to me.

But yes, I completely agree - the funniest thing on TV at the moment! I just wish they would make more per series. I love Stephen Fry and Alan Davies - they're so funny together. :D

BBC America should be ashamed of itself!

Oh dear, LJ is sending REALLY old comments now. Geez! Well, tomorrow is a brand new QI -- really looking forward to it. Last week's episode with the constant Squirrel references was so funny!
