Movies: Valiant

So we went to see Valiant this weekend. Not bad, not bad. Not nearly as good as *ahem* CHICKEN RUN, but still decent.

But anyway, at the end of the film there was an on-screen message about how there is actually an award for animal bravery during wartime, the Dickin Medal, given out to 32 messenger pigeons, 18 dogs and 3 horses ... and ONE CAT.

And we all said, "I wonder what the cat did?"

Well, now I know what the cat did. Furry little rat-killing, morale-boosting predator.

New York screening of "Serenity"

From the Universal boards:

On Wednesday, August 24th, there will be a 6 PM press screening of Serenity in New York City. The screening will take place at Loews Lincoln Square (1998 Broadway, at 68th StreetNew York, NY 10023) All Browncoats in the area are invited to come, however only the first 300 Browncoats there will be admitted, free of charge. We also ask that Browncoats do not begin to congregate at the theatre before 4:30 PM.

The British press begins to review "Serenity"

Empire Online review of "Serenity". A very positive review. There are a few factual errors, but they are minor compared to the ones perpetrated by the "Variety" reviewer.
