chickenU.S. Citizens, now is the the time to act. I know this feels like spam since others have posted about this, but please. The vote on the Constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage, gay civil unions, and all forms of gay committment is going to happen in the next 48 hours, and we need to make sure it doesn't pass.
Please go here: http://www.moveon.org/unitednotdivided/ and sign the petition to Congress to stop the passage of this amendment.
Also, if you haven't already done so, put in a call or email to your Senators. Even Senators who are pro-gay and pro-marriage for gay people have been receiving floods of anti-gay phone calls from their constituents. We need to support their pro-gay position so that they don't waver and change their minds in the face of all the calls from the other side.
