No, there are lots of Xandrew stories, some Spandrew, some Warren/Andrew, all of which have an oven mitt that is integral to the story in some way. And yes, there are also some Andrew/OvenMitt stories as well.
There are a bunch of other pairings, too, I don't remember which. There might have been an Andrew/Anya, for example. Oh, and there certainly was an Andrew/Jonathan.
Yes, their friendship is cute, I've read a lot of them where she teaches him how best to approach Xander, etc., or she catches him with the oven mitt doing ... things, etc.
