Movies: 25th Hour
Aug. 12th, 2003 04:37 pmEdward Norton is one of my favorite actors, and he was as good as ever in this film. (Even though the actual film was kinda depressing).
However, Spike Lee annoys me more and more. Some of the writing is too self-consciously pedantic and preachy, like the whole mirror monologue. Please get over yourself, Spike.

Date: 2003-08-12 09:15 pm (UTC)I, too, could have done without the mirror monologue, but mostly because it was just Spike Lee ripping himself off in a not-updated-enough-to-justify-its-inclusion kind of way. It was too self-conscious, and not all that enlightening, nor did it really add much to the film.

I cried so hard at the end with the "beat me up" scene.
