Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

David Thewlis [Lupin] -> played gay with Leo DiCaprio in Total Eclipse, a film about the poets Verlaine and Rimbaud.

Gary Oldman [Sirius] -> played gay in Prick Up Your Ears, as Joe Orton.

Hmmmmmm. Interesting. I think the casting directors took this into consideration, no? Certainly the actors had a vibe together.

Although not canon, I also wanted them to do the Veruca/Oz thing while transformed. Oh well.

Also, there were lots of funny things in this film, which was a nice counter-balance to the darker themes.

Too bad Snape didn't get more screen time. And they also didn't make it clear that Snape was making the Wolfsbane potion for Lupin, and that this was why he followed them, nor did they talk about the James/Remus/Sirius/Peter history at the tree, why the tree was put there, how Snape saw Remus at that time, etc. etc.

But the emotional tenor was true to character and to the books, maybe even better (since these actors, especially the adults, are really good actors).

Timothy Spall is typecast now, methinks. He played a rat in Chicken Run, and now he plays one here. Poor guy. ;-)

Also, the Hippogriff was well done.

I just wanted to cry when I saw Sirius, what with all the future occurrences. ::Sob::

I really liked this film a lot, and thought it was better than the last two.
