Movie: Latter Days

chickenDid I already tell you all that I loved Latter Days? Cuz, if I didn't, I'm telling you know. A great film, a great gay film, a touching film, a funny film at times, too. And it has Amber Benson!
I grew up in Colorado, a place where Mormons have slipped over the border to hone their evangelizing craft before they move on to do missionary zealotry in far away places. I really hate the door-to-door crap. Until I saw this movie, I mistakenly believed that these people were pretty much doing this voluntarily. I had no idea they were forced to go by their parents and church, no exceptions. That made me hate them a little less. And then of course to know that this was based on someone's actual life and painful coming out of the closet. Wow.
