The only really good dim sum place I know of is in Portland. I may have to go up this weekend since we're driving to Vancouver for the FIL's 50th birthday.

Nummy. I really need to see if there's anyplace good in Eugene since it's only like a 40 minute drive and Portland is over 2 hours, lol.

Well, searching the SuperPages yields this: http://tinyurl.com/4bbzy (Spring Garden Restaurant). Who knows whether it is any good or not, though, or whether it's one of those places that has a few token dim sum items as appetizers or whether it's a full-fledged dim sum place from 9 am - 3 pm (the traditional dim sum hours).

But dude, for good dim sum, why not just go somewhere in Vancouver? They must have dozens of restaurants to choose from. Vancouver is legendary for good dim sum. When my parents lived in Seatle, they went to Vancouver for dim sum all the time (this was in the 1960s, but still)! You could take your FIL out for some!
