Major "Serenity" Spoilers here

The Browncoats message board has a very few, but very vocal group of people who are so pissed off about a certain character dying they are saying they HATE the movie and want to let everyone else know how bad it is, and are trying to get people not to see the film.

I am SO tired of their whinging, their whole, "the franchise is dead because of this".

HELLO people, it's called a PREQUEL.

Did you not see a legion of Buffy and Angel actors come back and get work after their characters died? I am just so pissed off at these spoil-sports right now.


UPDATE, a thought I just had:

There's the prequel scenario, and there's the flashback scenario. There's also the "oh my god, Zoe might even be pregnant." Don't laugh. In "Heart of Gold" she and Wash have a pretty serious discussion about having some little ones. Joss may not discount this out of hand. I mean, you never know! I'm not saying a person can only live on through their children, and I'm not saying it's a great storyline necessarily (we've all seen how many ways it can be done cheesily or in a way that over-sentimentalizes motherhood). But you just never know.

My only reaction is dude what the hell else did they expect? I mean dude! It is JOSS and that's what happens.

I'm really interested to learn why you read some spoilers already? Do you feel it will ruin your enjoyment of the movie? Did you read Angel and Buffy spoilers back in the day? I'm quite curious, because in my own case, spoilers would have been Very Bad.

Oh yeah, the way I found Btvs fandom was looking for spoilers actually :). I've never found that spoilers make anything worse or better for me either way? Though sometimes when I'm spoiled it helps pick up on smaller things since I know the big things that are coming. I know that I'm going to see the movie either way and what spoilers I've read thus far really haven't made me form an opinion one way or the other over the movie. I'm there to see how the writer/director whatever gets them from point a to be and less what those points are? If that makes any sense.

Well, that does kind of make sense. I still prefer to be unspoiled myself, but it makes sense for some folks.
