blue sparks!

chickenAfter we got our power back, I left for work, and about a mile up the road heard what sounded like gunshots. It turned out to be the sound of electrical wires breaking and discharging huge blue sparks. Me and four other cars ran a red light (at which there were no people in the other direction, so it was safe) in order to flee the falling power lines before they hit the ground. WICKED SCARY.
The wind is really gusting and more power lines keep falling. Nasty weather. Time to go make another mug of PG Tips to keep warm (yes, the heat is still not on in our building, although it isn't nearly as cold as yesterday, when the vents were cruelly blowing actual COLD air).
