I really didn't much care for some of the more trite plots early in the season, but these last two episodes have completely redeemed Russell T. Davies.

My goodness Torchwood is an amazing show.

Wait, let me revise that...

Torchwood is CRACK!

It seems to me that Torchwood is not just full of more sex & violence for being after the watershed (as compared to Doctor Who), but is also much more emotionally wrecking. Doctor Who can be scary sometimes, but it just isn't as affecting as this was (with the exception of the last episode of season two). Doctor Who has much more an edge of whimsy that keeps the show lighter.

Also, the fact I remained relatively unspoiled until around 11:00 am this morning was a really, really good thing.

P.S., John Barrowman is King of the World. Or should be.

P.P.S., if spoilers happen in the comments, you've been WARNED! Don't read other people's comments if you don't want to be spoiled. That's how I got spoiled this morning. It's apparently unavoidable.

Torchwood is definitely crack. Even in weeks that followed less than good episodes, I still couldn't wait to see the next one. I'm going to be sad when this Sunday comes and there's nothing new to watch.

Well that's why you have to re-watch all the old ones, whilst counting down the days to the Harry Potter movie.

Also, I highly recommend "The History Boys" if you have an indie theater showing it nearby (you must, in NYC).

I would kill to have Ianto be MY butler! I loved that kiss at the end. He's my favorite character.

Ianto is everyone's new Xander! Ianto is very, very interesting. And given all the hints in that last episode I think it's clear that there's a ton more going on with him than we were led to believe. For example, out of the 27 employees of Torchwood One who survived the Cybermen thing, was he one? How exactly did he survive, if so? How did he smuggle that Cyber converter thing into the basement of TW 3? Is he in fact the real power behind the throne? And how that Jack is er, gone, temporarily, will Ianto continue his power struggle with Owen or will Owen leave well enough alone and let Ianto run things? Also, why does Ianto look so darn good in that purple shirt?

Well Torchwood is an adult show vs. Dr. Who being for kiddies...

And for that reason I think they complement each other very well.
