I must endorse "Waitress". Go see this sweet romantic comedy! I cannot endorse this film enough.

I like that it had more genuinely funny moments in it than most romantic comedies, but still plenty of sweetness and romance. I think Nathan Fillion was very well cast, and that he had good chemistry with Kerri Russell.

Also, after I left the theatre I wanted PIE. However, I still don't know where the heck you can find any good pie in Orlando at 10:00 pm at night. We went to a venue restaurant and the pie was not fit to be called pie. VERY disappointing.

You don't have "House of Pies" in Orlando? We have at least two in Houston. So sad.

Also, I'm so glad the movie is good. It's time for Nathan to have another hit!

Don't tease me with the pies! There is no such thing. We Googled it and it only exists in Houston and LA.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to tease. I hope you find a pie place soon. ((hug))

Oh, not LA. We re-Googled. Just Houston. You lucky bastards. ;-)

People on Chowhound.com recommend Charlie's Gourmet Pastries. Hmmmmm.

We also have the Flying Saucer Pie Company and and and... a bunch more places. How else do you think Houston gets named the fattest city in the United States each year?

Wow, is there a giant flying saucer on the roof?

I loved Waitress! I should go see it again. Mmm Nathan.

Also, it's shaping up to be the sleeper hit of the summer! It's #5 this week at the box office and doing way better than lots of newer movies.

Yes, I saw that over on Whedonesque. The per-screen numbers are GREAT. Nathan will become a hunky swoony leading man before you know it! Well, he already is in our eyes, but I mean in a more widespread way. ;-)

We saw this at one of the Mother's Day screenings. There were nine of us, ranging in age from 14 - 76, and all of us loved it.

And I still want pie.

Wow, that's a good age range. And I am sure each person got something slightly different out of the experience. But no one got any actual pie. That's too bad!

Pie

Eleven years ago I spent an entire Autumn mastering pies. (And gained a lot of weight in the process... alas, I lost it immediately a few months later when I moved to New York.) Now I only get to make them if someone invites me over for Thanksgiving Dinner. But my point is that since then I have NEVER EVER EVER had a restaurant-made or store-bought pie that wasn't completely disgusting.

It's just one thing where you simply cannot beat homemade... and I can't tell you why.

P.S. Might go see the movie tonight.

My wife makes a GREAT home made pie, especially apple. You really can't beat homemade.

What's your favorite flavor?
