Shanshu question

So Fred erroneously tells Spike that the prophecy says that specifically *Angel* will Shanshu.

Did Angel not tell her that it said "a vampire with a soul"? Or is she misleading Spike?

Sure, Angel said they'd both go to hell, but if someone does become human, couldn't they both become human? Was there a first person plural in the prophecy that Wesley missed?? :-)

I think it just said that the Vampire with a soul will live until he died (become human). I don't think it was Angel specific. I know there was an Angel specific prophecy (other than Acathla on Buffy) but I don't think it was the shanshu one.

I, of course, could be very, very wrong.

But I think that everyone just assumes it's Angel's prophecy because he was the only souled Vamp at the time.

That is exactly what I was saying -- the prophecy was not specific to Angel, and yet Fred made it seem so when she told Spike about it, which bothers me. Why did she do that?

When the prophecy originated way back when, neither Spike nor Angel had a soul or was even born yet.

See, that irked me too. I think it's just that Fred probably heard about is second hand and everyone talks about the prophecy like it is Angel's because he was the original soul!vamp btu I think that some souled vampires may be more deserving. What's that? you say there is only one other souled vamp? How 'bout that. :)

Maybe Fred doesn't know it's "vampire with a soul". Everyone just assumes it's going to be Angel. Well, maybe Wesley would suspect otherwise. I don't think Fred would mislead Spike; she's taken a shine to him. :)
