Who likes Tomato products!?

We have a "no human food" policy for our cats. We never feed them leftover table scraps, we only feed them "good for their teeth" dry food (never canned wet, never). We stopped feeding them shrimp when we realized it gave them horrible poo problems.

But today Bunny put down her spaghettios bowl, and the next thing we knew, Pearl was licking the tomato sauce that stuck to the bottom and sides of the bowl. I was surprised! This is that cat who REFUSED to eat a small piece of bacon, after all.

why don't you feed them wet canned food? I have friends that feed their kitties wet canned food as a treat.

They don't like wet food.

When they were just six weeks old, the vet said we had to feed them wet food for several weeks until their teeth got strong enough for dry food, but they hated it, and when we started giving them a choice of both at once, or switching, they refused to eat a bite of the wet food. And when we tried the "as a treat" thing later on (even tried more than one brand), they still left it untouched. Picky!

Heh, picky indeed. I dont think I've ever met a "normal" (stereotypical?) kitty. They've always got some quirk.

Cats are weird. For instance, one of my cats hunts, but only ever eats the brains of his victims. I put down a big plate of salmon treats for my cats as an apology for leaving with a neighbour for new year, and they've completely ignored them. The non-hunting cat mugged me for my turkey and pickle sandwich though.

And my sister's cat had a Thing for raisins.

Brains, ew! One of the many reasons our cats never go outside, ever. Well, it is mostly because our street is a very busy one, too many cars and trucks, they would get run over in an instant.

The turkey sandwich thing makes sense ... one of my bunny's cats that her family had when she was growing up reportedly dragged an entire thanksgiving turkey backwards off the table and then knawed on it. This is the same cat that stole a hamburger off her dad's plate when he turned away only for a second!
