Pilot light

So the pilot light *is* in a place I had put a match, but it turns out to be four (4) inches back into the hole -- my match was only an inch and a half, maybe two inches long. The landlord, as he was rushing down the stairs to work said that he "put the match on the end of a stick" (?!@!?).

Next time I need to have some of those long barbecue matches on hand, because I cannot imagine exactly how he attached a short match to the end of a stick as he was quickly on his way out the door.

Maybe he keeps a short stick on hand for just such occasions? Maybe your landlord is actually McGyver!! And can save the world with a short match attached to a stick, a piece of string and a pair of nail clippers!!

Or maybe my imagination is far to vivid... *grin*
