Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle

chickenAlison Bechdel, in her _Dykes to Watch Out For_ cartoons, has one of her characters say that in order for a movie to be watchable for her,
1. it has to have at least two women in it who 2. talk to each other about 3. something besides a man.
Some people may say these are the minimum criteria for a film to have any feminist tendencies at all.
Now Charlie's Angels does fit these three rules. So poo on the people who insist it is a backward, sexist film, nothing but a mindless babe-watch.
Of course, subjectivity-wise, as a lesbian, I enjoyed the parade of sexy women a lot, and am willing to believe that since a woman (Drew Barrymore) produced the film, it has to have some small smidge of thought towards someone other than the straight male viewer.
Although the sexiness of some of the women is a bit questionable, since the "just barely this side of anorexia" look is still the norm. (Which is why I find Drew the sexiest because you can't see her ribs! She is actually healthy and sexy instead of ribby. Which is why is makes me SO angry to read all the comments from guys on imdb.com who insist "Drew is fat". NO, NO, NO, NO, she is NOT fat. Not. Not. Not. NOT!)
And a pox on anyone who feels like comparing and criticizing such a tongue-in-cheek, spoofy, clearly intentionally fluffy film as if it were trying to be anything more. Cuz it was fun, and I didn't go to see it expecting anything more. And it was far more laugh-making then the first film.

David made the icon for me, he's recently been learning flash animation. He made me another one that I just haven't posted up, yet. Maybe I should do that, at some point.
