Kevin Kline should win another Oscar

... yes, he should. His performance was moving and nuanced, plus he really can sing (he went to Julliard school of music prior to going to acting school).

De-lovely was indeed lovely.

"So in love" made me cry, partly due to his moving singing & acting, partly due to my enduring memory of the way k.d. lang slayed us with the song on Red Hot & Blue.

I want so bad to see this movie, except I know I will and that will be, well, embarrassing. I love Kevin Kline. Also, I'm afraid I will burst into spontaneous singalong in the theatre, and be summarily ejected.

I sort of mutter-sang, and did not get ejected.

But there were a startling number of very old people in the theatre, very disconcerting, considering the gay content. But none of them threw eggs, and none of them cursed the gayness.

Awww (maybe some of them were older gay people!). I don't think Cole Porter's sexual orientation would come as a shock to anyone, really -- I think it was an open enough secret that if you knew much detail about him, you knew that.
