Rainy Saturday

I'm really stressed out right now. It's Saturday, but I have to get the initial Sanskrit module (transliteration) done for Monday. Stress, stress, stress!!!

Plus, last night the car battery wouldn't start at work, but a nice lady with license plate EF-810 (or something like that) in a black pickup truck, gave me a jump. She looked familiar, maybe works at CIS. I was too flustered to remember to introduce myself, but I thanked her profusely. Went to Mom's house after, to try to drive around a lot and get the battery juiced.

I awoke at 6:00 am and went to bathroom but couldn't fall back asleep for two hours, dozed off at last until 9:30.

I tried to start the car then, but no joy.

Our landlord from the third floor and the guy who lives upstairs on the second floor came down and gave me a jump. I always thought that second floor guy was kind of annoying because he plays REALLY loud music (and with bad taste, bad music) a lot, but this time he was nice. Maybe next time he blares his music I'll give it a pass. Just the one time. The landlord had this nifty portable battery (instead of just jumper cables), so he didn't have to even maneuver his car around next to mine.

I went to get a new car battery installed, and the nice man at Tire Pros didn't even charge for labor, wow.

Finally I drove to the farmer's market, drenched in rain, got ratatouille vegetables & basil, peaches and a watermelon. Yum.
I got so soaked and chilled (stupid broken umbrella).

Ellie made me breakfast, bacon and eggs, yum. Warmed up. Had some tea.

Now I have to get started on the Sanskrit programming. Woo, Unicode and Perl. Fun times. But, BBEdit!

Clearly, procrastinating by writing this journal entry was stupid. But oh well.

Sounds like you've had a rough time of it today.

I don't know about you, but when I've had my butt plastered to this damn office chair for hours on end, it's nice to have a break once in awhile. Even if it is just to chat with the flist. ;)

True. And a break to eat is good, too. Bunny is making me yummy food.
