Date: 2005-03-14 06:35 pm (UTC)Of course, when I rule the world, legal/civil marriage will be banned (religious marriage left up to, appropriately, religions) and replaced with Codependence, a set of papers offering pretty much the same rights as marriage, but open to straight couple, gay couples, best friends who want to live together, whatever. S'long as you can prove you're codependent (financially, physically, emotionally, or some mix of the three, my plans are not yet finalised...). And if you are all coupley, then you can have a religious ceremony, or a "marriage ceremony" or whatever, just the papers will be different and open to more people, and will still include the option of adopting your spouse's name or whatever. Erm. Yes. It's entirely possible tha I've been thinking about this way too much.(no subject)
